Obituary of Jeanette (Palumbo) Vanasse

Jeanette (Palumbo) Vanasse, 88 of Peabody and formerly of Malden, died Tuesday evening at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late James Vanasse. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Volenta) Palumbo. She was raised and educated in Malden and has lived in Peabody for the past 20 years. Family was everything to Jeanette and upon marrying her husband James; she dedicated herself to her family and the raising of her three daughters, and later, she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and in their endeavors. Jeanette enjoyed cooking and when her husband retired, she enjoyed traveling around the country. Her favorite activity was going out for either lunch or dinner, she cherished the time with her husband and for the last couple of years with her daughters. Jeanette is survived by her three daughters, Janet and her husband Henry Murphy of Melrose, Diane Vanasse Kahn and her husband Steven Kahn of Peabody and by Linda DiMare of Wilmington, a son-in-law, Robert DiMare of Wilmington, and is also survived by six beloved grandchildren, Diana and Brian Murphy, Zachary and Vanessa Kahn, and Joseph and Rachelle DiMare, and was the grandmother of the late Danielle DiMare, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Concetta Frangello, and Frank, Vito George, and Roland Palumbo. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 at St. John’s Church, Church St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
