Obituary of Esther (Brady) Leahy
Mrs. Esther (Brady) Leahy, of Peabody, died Wednesday evening at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport following a long illness. She was the wife of the late James W. Leahy.
She was born in County Cork, Ireland, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary (O’ Sullivan) Brady and had resided in Peabody most of her life.
She was first employed at the former GTE Sylvania the Boston St., Salem plant.
She was then employed in the cafeteria department of the Salem School System for twenty five years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed taking walks and loved to sing
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Philip Pydynkowski of Salem and Karen and Peter Silk Jr. of Peabody, a brother Rev. Dermott Brady of the Josephite Fathers of Mobile, Alabama, 4 grandchildren, Kristopher Pydynkowski of California, Kathleen Costa and Stephen Urbanski of Peabody and James McDonald of Wakefield and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Christopher, Harry and Nora Brady.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody/Salem Line at 10:00 AM Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’ s Association, 37 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140.
