Obituary of Florika (Giallias) Tsoukalas

Florika (Giallias) Tsoukalas, 66, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at Salem Hospital following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Petros Tsoukalas with whom she shared over 33 years of marriage. Born in Romania, she was the daughter of the late Christos and Froso Giallias. She later lived in Greece for many years and in 1971 upon marrying her husband, immigrated to the United States and has been living in Peabody for the last 32 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Besides her loving husband, she is survived her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Timothy Foley of Methuen, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve and Kimberly Tsoukalas of Peabody, and Christos Tsoukalas of Methuen, two brothers, Dimitri and Yanni Giallias, three sisters, Valadina Atsalis, Lemonia Giallias, and Nadia Ploumis, all of Greece, and is also survived by five grandchildren, Elaine and Achilles Gikas, and Petros, Mia, and Ty Tsoukalas. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 09:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility followed by Services in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
