Obituary of Robert W. "Bob" Anderson
Robert W. Bob Anderson, 70 years, husband of Judith A. (Muise) Anderson of Peabody died Saturday at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Anderson was born on Nov. 11, 1932 in Peabody son of the late William and Muriel (Jordan) Anderson. He was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School class of 1952. During his senior year he was the Captain of the Tanners football team wearing the number 35.
He was employed as an assembler at the General Electric Aircraft Division in Lynn until his retirement in 1995 after 27 years of service.
Mr. Anderson was an avid golfer and during the 1953 U.S. Women’ s Open Championship at the Salem Country Club he caddied for Babe Zaharius. He was a passionate Bruins fan and enjoyed traveling, fishing and dancing.
In addition to his wife of 48 years he is survived by a daughter Debra Lee DiGiusto of Peabody; a son and his wife, Robert Rob W. and Denise Anderson of Peabody; a sister, Corrinne Pomroy of Boxford; five grandchildren, Danielle and Michelle DiGiusto both of Peabody, Robbie Anderson of Peabody, Taylor and McKenzie Anderson both of Derry, NH; three step-grandchildren, Danielle, Joseph and Angela Savarino all of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Gloria Rice.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the20 Church St. Peabody location 978-531-0472. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
