Obituary of William M. Ladd

William M. Ladd, 79, of Peabody, died early Wednesday afternoon at the Kindred Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Adelaide (Huse) Ladd with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Born in Augusta, Maine, he was the son of the late Walter and Ora (Bickford) Ladd. He raised and educated in Maine and has spent the last 51 years living in Peabody. He worked as a finish carpenter for over fifty years throughout the North Shore before retiring. Mr. Ladd enjoyed golfing, bowling and hunting and fishing in Maine. He also was a member of the Masons in Danvers and member of the Shriners Aleppo Lodge in Wilmington. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Martha Joyce Ladd of York, PA, a daughter and son-in-law, Candice and Robert McCulloch of Woburn, two sisters, Laurel Criss of North Wayne, Maine and Eleanor Bonner of Alexandria, VA; a granddaughter, Michelle Karnosh and a great grandson, Nathan Karnosh, both of Woburn. He was the sister of the late Priscilla Bruen. Following cremations, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11,2006 at 2:00 PM in the South Congregational Church, Prospect Street,Peabody.
