Obituary of Veneta Valles Gaieski

Veneta (Paganis) Valles Gaieski, 87, beloved wife of the late Dr. Anthony Gaieski and the late Philip Valles, passed away unexpectedly at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Toula Paganis. She graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Gaieski cherished her role as a nurturing matriarch. She believed in being active in the community, and expressed her giving nature for giving of her time and talents with several organizations. She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and a member of the Women’s PTA and Philoptokos Society. She also volunteered with the North Shore Children’s Hospital, the Home for Little Wanderers, the Guild of St. William at St. John’s Prep, and was a member of the Salem Country Club. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Elyse & James Champigny, Peter & Pam Valles, and Rick Valles all of Peabody; her grandchildren, Vanessa McGunnigle & her husband Kevin, and Philip, Nick, Alex and Christopher Valles; a great-grandson, Jack McGunnigle; a sister, Katina Barbas and brother Harry Paganis. She was preceded in death, besides both her husbands and parents, by a grandson Jonathan Champigny. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday November 7, 2011 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
