Obituary of Elizabeth (Kerdy) Bunny Trachtman

Elizabeth “Bunny” ( Kerdy) Trachtman PEABODY—Elizabeth “Bunny” (Kerdy) Trachtman, 81, beloved wife of the late Martin Trachtman, passed away on Tuesday morning November 8, 2011, at the Jewish Rehab Center in Swampscott. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Tyler) Kerdy. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mrs. Trachtman enjoyed her nurturing role as a homemaker for her family. She took great pride in her home and spent many enjoyable hours cooking, decorating, and working in the garden. Holidays were special events. Besides her homemaking skills, she was a gifted artist, seamstress and crafts person. She enjoyed ceramics and operated her own ceramics studio on Lynn Street in Peabody. “Bunny”, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed traveling with her husband. They traveled extensively through Europe, enjoyed cruises and vacations with friends, family, and the Danvers Senior Center. She was a very faithful and devoted parishioner at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. She will be dearly missed by friends and family. She is survived by a son, John & his wife Lee Krawczyk of Peabody; two daughters, Donna & her husband William Cram and Darlene & her husband Gregory George all of Peabody; three grandchildren, Matthew & his wife Vanessa Krawczyk and Stefanie Krawczyk & her husband James Linehan, and Brandon George; a twin sister, Helen Kerdy of Peabody; a brother-in-law Arnold & his wife Joan Trachtman of Cambridge; two nieces, Toni Marie Sher of Peabody and Maxima Baudissin of Jamaica Plain, and she shared a special kinship with Stephen Darcy of Plum Island, Newbury. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Dryer. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
