Obituary of Maria Pina Vieira Leitao

Maria Pina (Vieira) Leitao, 88, beloved wife of the late Domingos Leitao, died suddenly at her home on Thursday November 10, 2011. Born in Galveias, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Teresa Pina Vieira. She grew up in Portugal, where she met and married her husband. She came to the United States in Buffalo, NY for a year, then moved to Peabody where she lived for the last 49 years. Maria enjoyed being at home with her family. She read every day, and enjoyed reading the Bible. She enjoyed traditional Portuguese music and dancing. She loved children was a very good caretaker. She is survived by her sons, Elias Leitao and Anthony Leitao both of Peabody, and Louie Leitao of Burke, VA; her daughters, Sandra Leitao of Peabody, and Maria Grant of FL; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday November 15, 2011 at 9:30 AM for her Funeral Service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem
