I am saddened to learn about Don Felipe passing away. He was a wonderful, kind human being. He was always ready to teach, to help, and give you advice. When I told him I wanted to go back to school and what I wanted to do, he took me on a road trip in his motor home.We drove from Cedar Keys, FLcross country, and back to Massachusetts in June 1998. I saw the United States, something I would most likely never had done if it had not been for Felipe. It was an experience that I will never forget, not only by what I saw and where we went, but also because of what he taught me along the way, the history, the jokes and most important - his presence. Felipe was smart, wise and knowledgeable just about everything. What I remember tha most about our trip was when we went to Tombstone, AZ. He decided he was going to buy me a cowboy hat. We tried so many on, and we finally found one we both loved. It was a beautiful black leather cowboy hat. It came in handy especially travelling through the desert areas!! Everytime we spoke, we always spoke about the hat. And the last time I went to Massachusetts I took my hat and wore it. Felipe was so happy to see that I still had it. I found my journal from our trip a few weeks ago, and put it aside thinking I will show it to Felipe when I go to Massachusetts, but...

I will miss you so much Felipe! You told me I was a part of your Dominican family, but you were also a part of mine and will always have a special place in my heart. Sandra

I am very sorry to read of Phils passing. I was a new young lineman assigned to Phils "Bucket Truck" in 1970. I created what we used to call a "flashover" and shorted out the whole street. Phil calmed me down and talked me threw the repair and showed me how to fix it by myself. His only comment was "the heck with the street". I am now 67 and Phil was the best "boss" I have ever had. Rest in peace Phil and don't let the lites go out.
Regards, Henry McDermott
