Obituary of Mary Marcia Tocken

Mary Marcia Tocken, of Peabody, 91 years, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Krawczyk) Tocken died Monday at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. Ms. Token was born on Dec. 18, 1911 in Lynn. She was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School. She then attended Boston University where she majored in education receiving her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education. Her teaching career was spent in the Peabody School system where she taught at the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and the Higgins Junior High School until her retirement in 1976. During her leisure hours she enjoyed the arts, crocheting, sewing, knitting, gardening and music. She was a well know gourmet cook. She was a very active member of St. Joseph’ s Church in Peabody until it’ s closing. She is survived by two nephews, Robert Tocken of Michigan and John Tocken of Connecticut and dear friends, Rose Drooker of Peabody, Jane Drooker-Frahm and Robert Drooker of MI, Michael and Penelope Drooker of NY and Bernadine Drooker-Reppucci and Thomas Reppucci of Lynn. She was also the sister of the late Stephen, Anthony and Stanley Tocken. Her funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respects prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
