Obituary of Pauline J. (Sbriglio) DiStefano

Pauline (Sbriglio) Di Stefano PEABODY—Pauline (Sbriglio) Di Stefano, 83, beloved wife of the late Girolomo “Jerry” Di Stefano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon November 23, 2011, in the comforting presence of her family, a day before her birthday. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Concetta (Santangelo) Sbriglio. She grew up in East Boston, where she went to East Boston High School and met her husband. She lived in Peabody for the last 47 years. Mrs. Di Stefano worked as a Seamstress, and later in the cafeteria at Lynnfield Middle School until retiring 14 years ago. Pauline was active at the Peabody Council on Aging and the Torigian Community Life Center where she enjoyed gathering with friends, and volunteered for Podiatrist visits. She loved Bingo, Boston sports teams for Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. She will be remembered for feisty conversations about politics, and for her great sense of humor. She is survived by her sons, Gerard Di Stefano of Seabrook, NH, Angelo & his wife Christine Di Stefano of Lynn, and Paul Di Stefano of Peabody; three grandchildren, Angelo & his wife Jen Di Stefano, April Di Stefano & her fiancée Chris Hanlon, and Krista Di Stefano; two sisters, Carmella Nevola of Winchester and Mary Di Mauro Vallone formerly of East Boston, several beloved extended family and cousins including the La Mattina family and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by brothers Salvatore Di Mauro and Sonny Sbriglio. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Tuesday November 29, 2011 at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
