Obituary of Richard G. Della Croce

Richard G. Della Croce PEABODY—Richard G. Della Croce, 75, beloved husband of Rosemarie (Mastrocola) Della Croce, passed away peacefully at his home, in the comforting presence of his loving family, on Sunday morning November 27, 2011. Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late Gerardo and Amalia Della Croce, and he grew up there. He graduated from East Boston High School, and later moved to Peabody where he lived for many years. Mr. Della Croce was employed with American Airlines, as a Fleet Service Clerk at Logan Airport for 40 years until retiring in 1995. Richard served in the National Guard. He was gifted with great carpentry skills, and built many furniture pieces. He enjoyed radio-controlled planes and boats, tinkering with clocks and had a passion for model trains. He felt proud taking care of his yard where nothing was out of place. He will be dearly missed by family and friends, and was always surrounded by having the people he loved around which brought him great joy and support recently. Richard’s family came first before anything else in life. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Mastrocola) Della Croce of Peabody, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark & Susan Della Croce and Dana & Rachel Della Croce, all of Peabody; his cherished grandchildren, Mark Richard, Gerard, Jacob, Nicholas, Hannah, and Ryan all of Peabody; a brother, Gennaro Della Croce of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday November 30, 2011 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
