Obituary of Rosa Monteiro Morais

Rosa (Monteiro) Morais, 93, of Mint Hill, Charlotte, NC and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully on November 23, 2011 at her home after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Fabio Reigoto Morais. She was born in Guiaes, Portugal on April 30, 1918 the daughter of the late Joao and Elvira Monteiro and was raised there before moving to Peabody in 1966. She then would travel back and forth to Portugal before moving to Charlotte No Carolina 10 years ago. She enjoyed working in the soil in her garden growing vegetables and flowers and had been a member of St. Luke’s Church in Mint Hill, NC and also at Santa Maria de Guiaes, Portugal. She is survived by five sons and 4 daughter-in-laws, Fernando and Debbie Morais of Peabody, MA, Manuel and Valerie Morais of Mathews, NC, Jose and Sally Morais of Hooksett, NH, Aderito and Diane Morais of Charlotte, NC and Antonio Morais of Danvers, MA, a daughter and son-in-law, Lurdes and Bernardo Figueiredo of Mint Hill, NC, thirteen grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Antonio and Jose Monteiro and Maria Monteiro. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
