Obituary of Dr. Kathleen T O'Shea

Dr, Kathleen T. O’Shea, 74, of Boston, MA and formerly of Peabody, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston after a short illness. She was born in Boston on October 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Thomas J. And Mary (Mc Donald) O’Shea and was raised in Peabody before moving to Boston 40 years ago. Dr Kathleen was a graduate of Nazareth Academy in Wakefield and the College of the Sacred Heart in Newton where she was the valedictorian in both schools. She received her medical degree at Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and did her first residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton. After receiving her degrees, she was one of the first woman Dermatologist appointed at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and was associated Dr. Fitzpatrick in the Dermatology Department which she had practiced there for over 20 years. She was a dedicated doctor in helping others in their sickness and took great pride in seeing her patients get well. She is survived her brother, Dr. Thomas H. O’Shea of Brooks by Village, Peabody, a brother-in-law, Walter Landergan Jr. of Boston, her cherished nieces and nephews, Mary Beth Landergan of Melrose, Walter L. Landergan III of Charlestown, Thomas J. Landergan of Newburyport, Aileen T. Adams of Beverly, Thomas H. O’Shea Jr. of Lynnfield, Brian G. O’Shea of Dallas, Texas, Kevin P. O’Shea of Great Falls, VA and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Beth (O’Shea) Landergan and the sister-in-law of the late Patricia (Ferguson) O’Shea. A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody, MA facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
