Obituary of Harold W. "Tim" Hanson

Harold W. Tim Hanson, 75 years, husband of Virginia M. (Hemeon) Hanson of Peabody died unexpectedly Sunday at the Union Hospital in Lynn after being stricken at his home. Mr. Hanson was born Jan. 29, 1928 in Somerville, son of the late Harold W. Hanson, Sr. and Myrtle (Parker) Hanson. He was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School class of 1946. During WWII he served with the United States Air Force. After the war he attended the New England Aircraft School at Logan Airport. He was employed as a maintenance crew chief for 41 years with American Airlines at Logan International Airport until his retirement in 1992. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed building model airplanes, ships and trains at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody. He was a member of the Steam Engine Club in Springfield and the Retirees of American Airlines Vanguard. He also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and throughout the country visiting his children. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by three sons and their wives, Philip G. and Norma Hanson of St. Petersburg, FL, Scott B. and Dora Hanson of Anchorage, AK, Douglas T. and Madonna Hanson of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter and her husband, Donna M. and Wayne Beck of Londonderry, VT; seven grandchildren, Patricia and Stephanie Hanson of FL, Matthew and Jeremiah Beck of VT, Bryan Hanson of AK, Patrick and Christopher Hanson of PA and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Philip Hanson and brother-in-law of the late Robert Hemeon. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location 978-531-0398 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
