Obituary of Hedley "Ted" B. Whiting
Hedley B. Ted Whiting,
PEABODY Hedley B. Ted Whiting, 88, husband of the late Aldeen E. (Bucknam) Whiting, died Saturday afternoon at the Salem Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Westfield, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late George and Jessie B. (Hunt) Whiting. He lived in Lynn for several years, then in Peabody for the last 58 years. He was in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Whiting was a Deep Sea Diver employed with the Boston & Maine Railroad for 45 years of service.
He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan, and enjoyed travel to Port Charlotte, FL in the winter.
He is survived by: three daughters, Susan & William Shanok of NY, and Aldeen & John Murphy and Robin Tripari, both of Peabody; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Mackesy of NH, and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 7 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut ST. location, relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
A visitation will precede from 4 to 7 P.M.
Burial will be private.
