Obituary of Teresa Jane (Dombrowski) Rydzewski
Teresa Jane (Dombrowski) Rydzewski, 87, of Peabody, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with her family by her side after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Stephen F. Rydzewski.
She was born in Peabody of May 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Sobocinski) Dombrowski and was a lifelong resident here. She was a graduate of the Peabody High School in 1941.
Teresa had worked at the General Electric Company in Lynn for 28 years prior to her retirement in 1986. She had been a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church, Peabody and later at St. Ann’s Church in So Peabody. She was a charter member and past president of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Chapter 63 of the Walter Dombrowski Post of Peabaody and also was very active in the Peabody Council on Aging as an attendance greeter. Teresa loved playing cards and reading books and was also a member of the AARP, Chapter 4806. She will be greatly missed by the family dog "Sparky".
She is survived by two sons, Joseph S. and his wife Lisa Rydzewski of Marblehead and Edward J. Rydzewski of Peabody, her daughters, Linda S. and her husband Wesley Merrill and Anne M. O’Connor and her fiance, Charles Davidson, all of Peabody, her cherished grandchildren, Michael and Kristen Merrill of Somerville, Stephen Merrill of Peabody, Kelly Rydzewski of Salem, Julie Rydzewski of Peabody, Rafe and Amy Hershfield of Marblehead and Lindsay and Tom Desmettre of Peabody; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob J. and Tyler Hershfield, Owen Merrill and Parker Desmettre. She was the sister of the late Edward J., Walter J., and Elizabeth C. Dombrowski, Clara A. Marshall, Wanda Dobrelecki, Lucy H. Hubisz, and Frances S. Gloddy.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Torigian Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960 or to Hospice of North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite 102B, Danvers MA in her memory.
