Obituary of Maureen P. (Pearson) Broughton

Maureen P. (Pearson) Broughton, 40, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Winn Broughton, Jr., with whom she shared over 17 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of Maurice and Geraldine (Barrett) Pearson of Peabody. She was raised in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, class of 1980. She later attended North Shore Community College and received a Liberal Arts Degree in 1984. Prior to her illness, she worked as a Teacher’ s Aide at the Burke Grammar School in Peabody. Besides her husband of 17 years, she is survived by 2 sons, Winn III, and Patrick Broughton, both of Peabody, and a daughter, Meghan Broughton of Peabody; 2 sisters, Linda Cornacchio and Kathleen Pearson, both of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Sharon Pearson. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 4-8 PM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
