Obituary of Richard D Poulin

Richard D. Poulin, 84, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Tuesday evening at the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Pauline (Morakis) Poulin with whom he shared over 63 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Edward and Della (Carter) Poulin. He was raised and educated in Lynn and has lived in Peabody for the past 43 years. Richard worked for the Northeast Cutting Die Company in Portsmouth, NH, as a die cutter for over 30 years before retiring many years ago. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and painting, but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and grandchildren in all of their endeavors. Besides his loving wife Pauline, he is survived by four daughters, Robin and her husband David Breen of Lynnfield, Nanette McFarland of Peabody, Julie Poulin and her partner Jean Reynolds of Melrose, and Diane Poulin of Danvers, a son-in-law, Bruce Purdy of Sanford, ME, a brother, Carl and his wife Lee Poulin of FL, and is also survived by three grandchildren, Jill and her husband Richard Sharp, Sean McFarland, Eric and his wife Liz Purdy and Brian Purdy, and by his great grandson, Michael Sharp, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Lorraine Purdy and brother of the late Jeannette Goguen, and father-in-law of the late Michael McFarland. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the North Shore Elder Services, 152 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
