Obituary of Bertha (Bagush) Petkavitch
Berth (Bagush) Petkavitch, 77, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John Petkavitch.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine (Peredna) Bagush. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School where she graduated in 1945 with high honors and was Class Valedictorian. She later attended secretary school in Boston.
She was a secretary for over 15 years working for the General Electric Company in Lynn before retiring. She was a very artistic and talented painter who won many blue ribbons. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and doing light carpentry work.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Judy Petkavitch of Baltimore, MD, two brothers, Alexander Bagush of Peabody and Stanley Bagush of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, and is also survived by three grandchildren.
