Dear Jane, her Family and Friends,
Jane was a special person for me and my two sisters. We each had her as a 5th grade teacher at the Kiley School in Peabody back in the 70"s. We each have taken away many fond memories of Jane in the classroom but I had opprtunities outside the classroom and as a grown adult to know Jane.

With Jane and her friends, back in the late 80's, I shared board games, dinners, and lots of laughs. She was a wonderful warm, bright, realistic, loving, and caring human being which is not so easily found in today's fast paced, non-stop world. Jane offered the us all intellectual discussions, respect, and educated perspectives on many topics. She was fiercely competitive and as loyal a friend as anyone could imagine, evidenced in part to her bevy of current friends, many whose initial contacts began in grammar school.

Over the years I may have seen her or contacted her infrequently but she is the type of person whose impact remains with you. She was a truly good person and will be sorely missed. You taught me far more about life, Jane than can be learned in the classroom. I will miss you and my heart is heavy for all of your other friends and family who miss you every day.

With much love---Dana

Nancy and Family, We are so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear sister Jane. After reading about her, I realize what a wonderful person, educator, mentor and so many other things she was to so many. I also lost my sister to breast cancer when she was 66, so I have much empathy with you in your loss. Take comfort in knowing that she no longer suffers and will now rest in peace. Thinking of you.

Sincerely, Ruth (Amaral) Tripp and Roland
Your PHS Classmate

Dear Family and Friends of Jane,
Over the years in the Peabody Public Schools, I came to know Jane as a person and as an educator. As a person, Jane was warm, caring, and thoughtful. Jane always had a funny story or tale to pass on.

As an educator, Jane was a both a Teacher and a Principal. However as a Principal, she still displayed the Teacher in her. Jane did great deeds at the Kiley and the Higgins which will carry on for years - with the students and teachers that were in her charge. Jane cared for all her students more than anyone will ever know.

Thank you Jane and God Bless!
Milt

Dear Jane,

I want the whole world to know what a great teacher, friend and mother figure you were to me. You taught me so many life lessons and helped make me the man I am today. When I was a little boy I loved spending time with you. I loved riding in your red Chevy convertible. I loved singing "Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" by Janice Joplin with you. I loved going on camping trips with you, playing board games with you, and discussing history and geography with you. I loved sitting on your lap riding across country talking about Star Wars and making plans to buy a horse. I loved seeing the Grand Canyon, Golden Gate Bridge and Yellowstone Park with you. (I am sorry I spilled the last beer during the drive across Texas.) I used to love holding your hand and pretending you were my mother too. I just loved you so much, more than you'll ever know. (I don't even hold a grudge for the times you wouldn't call on me in class to let me answer questions.)

It has been many years since we were close. I am a grown man with my own family and career now, yet as I write this memorial, I am crying like a little boy and wish I could hug you just one more time and thank you for all the wonderful moments we shared and tell you just once more how much I love you and how much you've meant to me in my life. Thank you for everything Jane.

Gregory

Dear family and friends of Jane,

I am so sorry to hear of Jane's passing. She was a true Peabody educator and friend. I really got to know and admire Jane after we were both named as Housemasters at the Higgins when it first became a middle school along with Mike Maher and Bob Gibeley. I will never forget the "school planning meetings" w e held with Principal John Murtagh in Ogunquit where we fought and laughed for hours on end. Jane never let "the boys" get anything over on her although she made us think we had.

Later, Jane and I both held principal positions at different levels in Peabody but continued our friendship and mutual respect. I know that many of the thousands of Peabody students whose lives were touched by "Miss Wilson' are also saddened by her passing.

Jane loved to have fun and we both were fans of CCR. Every time I hear "Proud Mary", I will think fondly of my good friend, Jane and the many times we danced to that song at many Higgins socials. She loved the Kiley and Higgins families and served them very well.

Rest in peace Jane, and may God hold you in he palm of his hands.

Dear Jane,

It all started at the Brown School. You living on St. Ann's Ave and me on Lynn St. Beverly, Arlene and Cheryl, you and I playing croquet in your backyard as your parents lovingly cheered us on. I can still feel the hot sun beating down on me as we played.
Swiming in Browns pond to cool off.

Then in the winter it was Brown's pond after school. Walking all the way home , changing, getting our skates and walking all the way back to Browns pond.

I am so glad we had such a great childhood together and a life time of friendship.

You were a wonderful friend and always incouraging me to be myself and that whatever I chose to do in life I would be great at it.

Jane, I am very sad today to have to say goodbye, so instead I will say, see you again and we will pick up that croquet game. Deal ?

In Friendship,
Janice
