Obituary of George Peter Katsoulas

George Peter Katsoulas, 86, of Peabody, husband of Virginia (Sellios) Katsoulas, died on Friday, February 10, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Katsoulas was born in Peabody on April 16, 1925 son of Peter and Toula (Fotopoulos) Katsoulas. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a lifelong resident of the city. For 35 years, George owned and operated the Honey Bee Restaurant on Main Street in Peabody until his retirement in 1991. For a few years, he was also employed at Gromko Real estate in Peabody. He was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, the Order of Ahepa and the Peabody Lions Club. As a hobby, he loved listening to classical music especially Jussi Bjorling & Enrico Caruso. In addition to his wife with whom he shared 62 years of marriage, George is survived by 3 sisters-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law, Gloria and Robert Shay, Aphrodite and Victor Fanikos, and George and Cathy Sellios all of Danvers; 2 nephews, Peter Katsoulas of FL and Peter Katsoulas of Manchester by the Sea; 3 nieces, Sandra Corrigan of Tyngsboro, Linda Zakas of Salem and Nikki Mavrakos of Topsfield and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his bothers, Ernest, Charles and Alden Katsoulas. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed with a service at 12 p.m. at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody.
