Obituary of Joseph D'Orazio
Joseph D’ Orazio, 77, beloved husband of Alice M. (Reynolds) D’ Orazio, died Friday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a short illness.
Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late John and Rose (Ford) D’ Orazio. He lived there in his youth and attended schools there.
Mr. D’ Orazio enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as a Longshoreman with Jaca Stevedoring in Boston for many years before his retirement 15 years ago.
He enjoyed spending time at the Peabody Community Life Center.
He will be sadly missed by his family, including: his wife, Alice M. (Reynolds) D’ Orazio of Peabody, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; three daughters and one son-in-law, Catherine D’ Orazio of Rowley, Rose Linda D’ Orazio of Saugus, and Alice & Peter Mizzoni of Boxford; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Dolly D’ Orazio of Stow, MA; seven grandchildren, Cheri LeClair of Chelsea, Katelyn, Jacquelyn and Victoria LoConte of Saugus, Jo Anna D’ Orazio of Stow, and Cassie and John Mizzoni of Boxford, and two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Ariana Burley of Chelsea, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers John D’ Orazio, Victor D’ Orazio, Vincent D’ Orazio, Robert D’ Orazio, and Thomas D’ Orazio, and his sisters Rose D’ Orazio and Phyllis Palermo.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church ST. location Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
