Obituary of Dolores M. (Lewin) Richard

Dolores M. (Lewin) Richard, 81, of Peabody, devoted wife of the late Harold F. Richard, Jr., died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Richard was born in Boston on August 19, 1930 the daughter of Frank J. and May R. (Richard) Lewin. She was raised in Chelsea and educated at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Chelsea. In 1964, she and her husband made their home in Peabody. Dolores was employed in the meat dept. of the former Stop & Shop in Peabody, retiring in 1993 from Mals Supermarket in West Peabody. She was a loving mother who devoted her life creating a home for her family and later was so proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She and her husband were avid Country Line Dancers, enjoyed traveling to the islands, and as hobbies she loved her garden, reading and making crossword puzzles. Dolores is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph and Cheryl Vega of Woburn, Diane Carr of Beverly, Denise and Doug McGrath of Derry, NH, and Lisa and Paul Resendiz of Peabody; 6 grandchildren, Wendy, Tommy, Vanessa, Dorothy, Ryan and Nicole; a great granddaughter Tamara; a brother, Frank Lewin of AZ; a sister, Lorraine Melvin of NH; a brother-in-law, William Richard and his wife Dottie of Peabody; many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the South Congregational Church, 60 Prospect St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
