Obituary of Leona G. Kotoloski
Leona G. Kotoloski, 88, of Peabody, wife of the late Stanley W. Kotoloski, died surrounded by her family at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Friday, February, 24, 2012.
Leona was born in Peabody on August 23, 1923 the daughter of Grace Larrabee. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School Class of 1940 and was a lifelong resident of the city. During WWII, Leona was employed at General Electric in Lynn leaving her employment in 1946 to raise her family.
Leona was employed for 9 years as a secretary / bookkeeper at North of Boston Tourist Council Travel Information Center until her retirement in 1985. She was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family and later she was very proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Then, her great grandchildren became the joy of her life. Leona volunteered for many years at the election polls in Peabody, she was very crafty and enjoyed knitting and sewing clothes and gowns for her family, playing the piano, dancing and listening to music.
Leona is survived by her daughter, Vicki Lobb of Peabody; her grandchildren, Gary Pzegeo and Mary Werler, Leah and T.J. Martin, Gwen and Matt Mansfield, Stacey Lobb, Liane Woods; her great grandchildren, Hannah Martin, Charles Pzegeo, William Pzegeo, Jack Woods, Luke Mansfield and Sean Mansfield; a sister, Patricia Hall and her husband Stanley of Peabody; her nieces and nephews, Patti Hall, Stephanie Christianson, Peter and Sue Routses and family. Leona was predeceased by her daughter Judith Pzegeo and her brother Sonny Burkhart.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 12 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
