Obituary of Gregory (Angelos) Angelopolus

Gregory Greg Angelopolus Angelos SALEM Gregory Angelopolus, also known as Greg Angelos, 81, beloved husband of Theresa (Morin) Angelopolus of Salem, died Monday morning at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport following a brief illness. Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Antonios and Evangelia (Benta) Angelopolus. He lived there in his youth and attended Peabody schools. After his marriage he moved to Salem where he lived for the last 59 years. Mr. Angelos worked over 40 years in the Leather Industry. He first worked with Sirois Brothers, then with A.C. Lawrence Leather until his retirement in 1984. He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He is survived by: his wife, Theresa (Morin) Angelopolus of Salem, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage; two sons, Gregory R. Angelopolus of Salem and Daniel Angelopolus of Lynn; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marcella Angelopolus and Evangeline & Richard Clement, both of Salem, and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Butch Angelopolus of Lynn; two sisters, Elizabeth Vorias and Marcella Corbett, both of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Dennis Angelopolus, a brother John Angelopolus and a sister Constance Ahern. Following cremation, a Gathering visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody, followed by a Ceremony at 6:30 P.M. to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
