Obituary of Charles M. Moody

Charles M. Moody, 79, of Peabody, husband of Ethel (Blodgett) Bonia Moody, died surrounded by his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Mr. Moody was born in Lynn on February 4, 1933 son of Samuel Barnes and Angie Bell (Spinney) Moody. He was raised and educated in Lynn. He and his family moved to Peabody in 1981. On February 28, 1950, he enlisted in the Air Force and served with the 3750th Supply Squadron, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1954 while serving with the 4603rd Material Squadron. He was honorably discharged on May 20, 1960. Mr. Moody was employed for many years as a crew dispatcher with Amtrak, a position he held until his retirement in 2000. He devoted his life caring for his family, enjoyed life to the fullest traveling worldwide, and was also an avid sports enthusiast. In addition to his wife Ethel, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles M. Moody, Jr. and Sharon Moody of Peabody, Kerry Moody of Scituate and Debra and Joseph Analoro of NC; 7 grandchildren, Jaime, Colleen, Chuckie, Michelle, Laura, Julie, Danny; many great grandchildren, a sister, Meredith Bethune of CA; a sister-in-law, Barbara Moody of MS, his step children and their spouses, Robert and Doreen Bonia, James and Joy Bonia all of Peabody, Ronald and Laura Bonia of NH, and Cheryl and Michael Deveaux of No. Andover; 10 step grandchildren, Robert, Marty, Dana, Derek, Bryan, Desirae, Christina, Timothy, Justin and Jennifer, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 12 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends may pay their respect on Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
