Obituary of Joseph Paul Dube

Joseph Paul Dube, 85, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Thursday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the husband of Helen (Lord) Dube with whom he shared over 62 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Peter and Roseanne (Tremblay) Dube. He was raised and educated in Salem and has lived in Peabody for the past 35 years. After attending Salem Public Schools, Joseph attended college and later received his Masters Degree in Education from Boston University. Joseph worked for the Department of Education as a film librarian and then as a librarian for the Town of Marblehead before he finally retired several years ago. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Paula Dube of Allston, Suzanne and Denis Kelley of Lynnfield, and Kathryn LeGere of Georgetown, a sister, Jean Rennick of Peabody, his five grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Eliz abeth, Andrew, and Julianne, and also by his two great grandchildren, Jane and Anne and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman Dube and Lucille Murphy. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
