Obituary of Janet Curcio

Janet Curcio Janet Curcio, 51, passed away peacefully while in the comforting presence of her family on Friday March 3, 2012 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late John and Hannah (Miranda) Curcio. She lived in the Fernald School in Waltham for many years, and recently was living at a wonderful group home in Waltham where she flourished the last 10 years. Janet participated and helped out with the Vinfen Day Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed being outside in nature—soaking in the sun, enjoying a picnic, and watching scenery during car day trips. She loved music of all kinds, attended Mass often, and eating Cheez-Its and French fries. She is survived by her twin sister, Joyce Curcio of Georgetown, and three sisters Jennifer & her husband Jon Stern of Groveland, Carol Ann LeBeouf of Maine, and Christine Burgess of Merrimac, MA, and brother Scott Curcio of Haverhill; her nieces and nephews, Melissa Kelleher, Jacqueline Leavitt, Kara Curcio, Matthew, Hannah, and Nathan Burgess, Rachel and Brenda LeBeouf, Scott, Kristen, and Keri Curcio, and great-nieces & nephews Jayce, Ty, and Madison Curcio, Jacob Devreau, and Jonathin Leavitt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother John Curcio. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
