Obituary of Eugenia (Gregorio) Santos

Eugenia (Gregorio) Santos, 80, of Peabody, died Monday at the Harborside Healthcare Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers after a long illness. She was the wife of Jose Santos with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on December 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (da Luz) Gregorio and had resided there before moving to Peabody 31 years ago. She had been employed at the Bleyer Industries in Wakefield for 13 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and ironing and being with her family. She had been a member of the Holy Ghost Society. Surviving her besides her husband are a son, David Santos of Peabody, a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Rui Ataide of Peabody, a granddaughter, Melissa Ataide of Peabody, a brother Jose Gregorio of Portugal and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel , Cerino and Maria Gregorio. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 am from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
