Obituary of William Thomas Green

William Thomas Green, 68, of West Peabody, died Sunday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford after a brief illness. He was the Husband of Betty Ann (Jaynes) Green with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea on Sept. 10,1934, he was the son of the late Harrison and Clara (Stoodley) Green Sr. and was raised in Revere and Everett before moving to Peabody 43 years ago. He had been a member of the Iron Workers, Local 7 of So. Boston for 30 years prior to a disability retirement 20 years ago. He enlisted in the Mass. National Guard in 1952 serving for eight years prior to his discharge in 1960. He enjoyed Gardening and growing pumpkins and being with his family, especially His grandchildren. Surviving him besides his wife are a son and his wife, Thomas Leslie and Eileen Green of No. Smithfield, R.I., 2 daughters and their husbands, Debra Ann and John Moore of Bradford, Ma. and Cindy Lee and Charles Di Orio of Peabody; 7 grandchildren: Alanna & Dominic Green of No. Smithfield, R.I., Bryan and Sarah Moore of Bradford, Ma. and Mathew, Mark and Laura Di Orio of Peabody and many neices and nephews. He was the brother of the late George and Harrison Green Jr., Phyllis and Mariam Green. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at West Congregational Church, Johnson St., West Peabody. Burial in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the West Congregational Church Organ Fund, Johnson St., West Peabody, Ma. 01960 in his memory.
