Obituary of Nancy C. (Upham) Ahern

Nancy C. (Upham) Ahern PEABODY—Nancy C. (Upham) Ahern, 81, beloved wife of Maurice “Bill” Ahern of Peabody, died Wednesday March 21, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington following a long illness. Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Ayotte) Upham. She grew up in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1949. She lived in Peabody for the last 55 years. Nancy enjoyed her role as nurturing a large family, and cherished all the moments together. She especially loved being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed square dancing with The Lancers of Salem, and also bowling. She is survived by her husband, Maurice “Bill” Ahern of Peabody of Peabody, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage; her seven children, Susan Marie Marshall of FL, Sandra Maitland of CA, Sharon Languzzi of FL, Nancy Ricci of Peabody, Richard Ahern of Merrimac, MA, Robert Ahern of East Kingston, NH, and Amy Sampson of Marlborough, MA; 12 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, two great-granddaughters; a brother, Joseph Upham of FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by a sister, Arlene Doucette. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her Funeral Service on Saturday March 24, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be to a charity of one’s choice
