Obituary of Harold W. Kress

Harold W. Kress PEABODY—Harold W. Kress, 92, beloved husband of Priscilla (Johnson) Kress of Peabody, passed away peacefully at the Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village with his family by his side on Monday March 19, 2012, following a brief illness. Born in Methuen, he was the son of the late Daniel and Elva (Baker) Kress. He grew up there, and graduated from Methuen High School. He went to Northeastern University where he graduated with honors and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a veteran of World War II, with service in the United States Army Air Corps which became the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Kress was a Mechanical Engineer with General Electric, and worked in several of their locations. Harold lived many years in Lynnfield, and was a member of the Centre Congregational Church. He was a member of the Lynnfield Conservation Commission, and enjoyed skiing and sailing pastimes. He lived in Peabody at Brooksby Village for the last eight years. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla (Johnson) Kress of Peabody, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia & Jerry Greer of Andover; two grandchildren, Jared & his wife Jocelyn Greer and Rachel Greer all of Andover, and a nephew. A family private Graveside Funeral was held on Friday March 23, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, with Military Honors.
