Obituary of Lawrence M. "Larry" Maguire

Lawrence M. “Larry” Maguire, 58, of Methuen formerly of Haverhill & Peabody, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Larry was born in Chelsea on April 17, 1953 son of Arthur M. and Joanne C. (Lawrence) Maguire. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School class of 1972. Larry was presently employed as a millwright at Raytheon in Tewksbury, a position he has held for 38 years. Larry was outgoing and lived to spent valuable time with his children, supporting them with their activities and attending family gatherings and cook outs. Most recently Larry enjoyed spending special time with his 3 cherished grandchildren especially taking 5 year old Cole and 4 year old Jacoby for breakfast. Larry excelled at drawing cartoons, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed watching and cheering the Red Sox and Patriots with family and friends. In addition to his parents of Peabody, Larry is survived by his children and their spouses, Matthew Maguire and Alexandra Simpkins of Salem, Katelyn Maguire and Jay Civian of Ft. Myers, FL., Kevin Maguire of Methuen, and U.S. Navy Seaman Mark Maguire of VA; 3 grandsons, Cole, Jacoby and Levi Maguire of Salem; 2 sisters, Kimberly A. Maguire and Patti Ann Maguire both of Peabody; a brother, John M. Maguire of Peabody; his companion Laurie Cross of Haverhill; his former wife, Joyce (McEneaney) Mussman and her husband Jerry of Newburyport; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Larry was predeceased by his sister Judith A. “Judy” Maguire and brother Michael A. Maguire. His funeral will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
