Obituary of Edith M. (Patch) Luscinski

Edith M. (Patch) Luscinski SALEM—Edith M. (Patch) Luscinski, 80, beloved wife of the late Chester “Chet” Luscinski, died peacefully on Saturday March 31, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, CA, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Huberta (Clements) Patch. She grew up in Burlington with her late Uncle and Aunt, Francis P. and Sarah Brundige. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. Mrs. Luscinski started out as a bookkeeper for Car Dealer Logan-Cruise in Winchester, before moving on to work for Devincent Ford in Cambridge. Later, she enjoyed her nurturing role as homemaker for her family in Peabody, and also helped as a bookkeeper in an accounting practice with her husband, who served as the City Auditor and Director of Finance for the City of Peabody from 1967 to 1979. Mrs. Luscinski was an active member of the Salem Country Club Community, where she and Chester were members for over 30 years. She was an avid film lover who fostered a love for cinema in her son who works in the film industry today. She attended the theater regularly and particularly enjoyed musicals at the North Shore Music Theater. She loved to sail and sailed regularly out of the Marblehead Yacht Club with companion Henry McGuire of Beverly. Her love of music was most represented in her passion for popular artist Neil Diamond, who she saw in concert regularly since the early eighties. She was also a devoted New England Patriots fan and attended many games throughout the franchise's history. One of her greatest joys was being a Grandmother. She would make frequent trips to California to visit her family in Los Angeles and on many occasions was able to enjoy the best of both coasts. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Autumn Luscinski of Pacific Palisades, CA; her son, Ralph Luscinski, of Salem, MA and her grandsons Quinn and Aidan Luscinski of Pacific Palisades, CA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Saturday April 7, 2012 from 9:30 – 10:45 in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the funeral home.
