Obituary of Evelyn J. (Capobianco) Durante

PEABODY-- Evelyn J. (Capobianco) Durante, 77, beloved wife of Salvatore Durante, died Tuesday afternoon at the Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Angelina (DeAngelis) Capobianco. She lived in East Boston in her youth, and attended East Boston schools. She graduated from East Boston High School. She lived in Peabody for the last 41 years. Mrs. Durante was an avid reader, and enjoyed attending plays or movies, social gatherings with friends, and especially hosting & cooking for family, with a special devotion for her grandchildren. She is survived by: her husband, Salvatore Durante of Peabody, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Cheryl Durante of Malden and Dennis & Karen Durante of Bristol, CT; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann & Doug Royal of Bradford, MA; six grandchildren, Mary Durante and Robert Durante, Jr. of Malden, Jonathan Durante and Jeffrey Durante of Bristol, CT, and Douglas Royal, Jr. and Marina Royal of Bradford, MA, and she also leaves several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
