Obituary of Esther "Babe" (Trabucco) Henry
Esther Babe (Trabucco) Henry, of Salem, wife of the late Thomas F. Henry, Jr., died on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 85 years of age following a brief illness.
Mrs. Henry was born October 8, 1919 in Beverly. She was the daughter of the late Dino and Ann (Tilley) Trabucco. She was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School class of 1937 and pursued her education at Salem Commercial School majoring in business. Following her marriage, she moved to Salem and resided there for most of her life.
Mrs. Henry began her working career at GTE Sylvania in Salem, and was later employed as an insurance agent with Met Life in Beverly. Following several years with the insurance industry, she became a self-employed real estate broker and operated Henry Associates in Salem. Prior to her retirement, she owned and operated The Blue Peacock, a gift shop opposite the Witch House in Salem. Mrs. Henry was very involved with the Girl Scout Troup at St. James Parish in Salem and enjoyed gardening and traveling as hobbies.
She is survived by her 4 children, Thomas J. Henry, Michael F. Henry, Barbara J. Henry and Patricia A. Krupsky and their families; a brother, Frank Trabucco, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her siblings, Alfred Trabucco, Anne Sullivan and Josephine Hamilton.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. location, Peabody. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Burial will follow in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen, Breast Cancer Foundation, Mass. Affiliate, 89 South St., Suite LL01, Boston MA 02111.
