Obituary of Anastacia Justo Hernando

Anastacia (Justo) Hernando, 91, of Salem, passed away with her loving family by her side at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center following a brief illness. Born in the Philippine Islands on December 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Bonifacio and Cecilia Hernando. She was the wife of the late Conrado Hernando. Anastacia was in her sixties when she immigrated to the United States and worked for many years for the Salem Maritime Custom House. She enjoyed going to the Salem Senior Center where she enjoyed playing bingo. Anastacia is survived by one daughter and four sons, Concepcion and her husband Roger Manangan, Benjamin Hernando, Valentin and his wife Elizabeth Hernando, Fidel and his wife Julieta Hernando, all of Salem, and Jesus and his wife Enriqueta Hernando of the Philippines. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Robin Hernando, Timothy Hernando, Diana Hernando, Donna and her husband David Estes, Mark and his wife Theresa Hernando, Arvin Hernando, Aeron Hernando, Allen Hernando, Leah Manangan, Lily Manangan, Sonia May Hernando, and Jerick and his wife Josi Hernando, Bryan Hernando, Fevie Hernando, Floridel Hernando, and also by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Peabody Glen Health Care Center for their care of Anastacia. Anastacia was and is a great spirit and she is surely dancing now in spirit with her husband, many dear friends and family members who have gone before her. We will miss her. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Her wake will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
