Obituary of Warren Berchoff

Warren Berchoff, 84, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Friday morning at the Radius Healthcare Nursing Center, Danvers after a long illness. He was the husband of Evangeline (Kokinos) Berchoff with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He was born in New York City, New York on July 9, 1921, the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Brownley) Berchoff and was raised in Manhattan before moving to Peabody 56 years ago. He was first employed in the leather industry at the former Strauss Tanning Co. in Peabody for 24 years. Later, he became a manager at the Richdale Milk Store in Saugus prior to his retirement in 1984. He had been a member of the Salem Lodge of Elks and enjoyed watching sports on television. Surviving him besides his wife are a brother, William Berchoff of East Meadow, NY and a sister, Virginia Berchoff of New York, 3 grandchildren and their spouses, William and Sandra Berchoff and John and Christine Berchoff all of Beverly and Jennifer and John Harvey of Danvers, 4 great grandchildren, Starsha, Jonathan and Jameson Berchoff all of Beverly and Madison Harvey of Danvers, a daughter-in-law, Deanna Landolphi of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William Billy-Jack Berchoff. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. A Funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Following cremation, internment will be in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’ s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, Ma 02472 in his memory.
