Obituary of Edward G St. George

Edward G. St. George, 88, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Nancy A. (Ferullo) St. George. Born in East Boston, he was the son of the late Frank and Annie (Tuckley) St. George. He was raised and educated in Winthrop and has spent the last 27 years living in Peabody. Edward was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Navy. Before being honorably discharged in 1946, Edward was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medical, Asiatic Pacific Area, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. After the war, Edward worked at the former United Shoe in Beverly for over 35 years as a machinist before he retired. Edward enjoyed fishing, reading and gardening. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Bill Doyle of Rowley, Denise and Bill Murray of Raymond, NH, and Nancy and Glen Houghton of Westford, six grandchildren, Kaitlin Bonner, Brian Doyle, Sean and Craig Murray and Olivia and Allie Houghton, two great grandchildren, Ella and Ryder Bonner and also by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody.
