Obituary of Clifton W Stark

Clifton W. Stark, 82, of Peabody and formerly of Saugus, died Monday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the devoted husband of Ida (Healy) Stark with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late P. Clifton and Nellie (Uzdavinis) Stark. He was raised and educated in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1948. He has lived in Peabody for the past 48 years. Clifton was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant in May of 1953. After his military service, Clifton worked for over 32 years for the Raytheon Company in Andover, North Andover, and finally for 18 years at the Lowell Plant. He worked in various capacities as a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer and as a Methods Engineer on the Executive Staff before he retired in October of 1991. He was a registered Professional Engineer and a member and past President of the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers. Clifton shared a unique and close bond with his family and friends and enjoyed sharing with them all of their endeavors, he will be dearly missed by all. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew Stark, a Peabody Police Officer, his wife Pamela Stark and their children, Zachary and Derek Stark, all of Peabody. Clifton’s sister, Nancy and her husband Ronald Bird of Sierra Vista, AZ, and by many nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM.. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
