Obituary of Thomas J. White

Thomas J. White, 73, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, husband of Bernadette B. (Moreau) White, passed away at his home on April 20, 2012 with his family at his side. Tom was born in Marblehead on March 7, 1939 son of Thomas J. White, Sr. and Lillian (Luscomb) White. He was raised in Marblehead and graduated from Marblehead High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. Tom and Bernie resided in Salem before moving to Florida in 2004. Tom was employed for many years as a senior manufacturing engineer at Aero Manufacturing Inc. in Beverly, a position he held until his retirement. Tom was a longtime member and past president of the Salem Lions Club, an avid snow skier, boater, fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. He always cherished the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Bernadette with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, Tom is survived by his sister and her husband, Jacqueline and George Dow of Kittery, ME; his children and their spouses, Gerard B. and Terry White of Lancaster, Cherylann and Glen Gard of Salem, Susan L. and Matthew Guthrie of Danvers, and Noreen A. and Kenneth Brackett of Saugus; his grandchildren, Hillary, Anthony, Cody, Lucas, Jaime, John, Alyssa, Erin, Glen Patrick, Emma and Caleb;. He was preceded in death by his brother William F. White. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 8:45 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Peabody.
