Obituary of Marilyn E. (Doucette) Marchand

Marilyn E. (Doucette) Marchand, 82, changed her address to heaven on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 to join her husband Arthur and son Neil. Marilyn was born in Lynn on March 31, 1930 the only child of the late A. Raymond and Helen (Moynihan) Doucette. She was raised in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s High School class of 1947 and attended Regis College for 2 years. Marilyn went on to work for G.E. at the West Lynn Plant, and in 1953 she was married to the love of her life. She retired to bring up her family, her most prized possessions. She returned to work in a retail career as a manager at Lerner’s No. Shore, and later at Life Uniform where she was employed in the same capacity for 20 years. Her career changed drastically when she decided to open a daycare for 10 years. Marilyn loved children and was very proud of this venture. “One of the highlights of her life” Mention family to her and her eyes would light up with pride. Marilyn leaves her much loved sons and their wives, David A. and Theresa of Lynn, Bradley M. and Stacey Marchand of Peabody, and her much loved and devoted daughter, Cheryl Pascale of Peabody. In 1979 her son Neil and in 2009 his partner Christina Bocchetti predeceased her. Another joy of her life were her grandchildren whom she was so proud of. Eric Marchand, Erin Hanlon, Lisa Marchand, Cherie Marchand, Philip O’Donnell, Leo Pascale Jr., Brandon Marchand and John Marchand, and 2 cherished great grandchildren, Anthony Marchand and Riley O’Donnell. Marilyn requested that she wanted to thank her friends of many years for their treasured friendship. As per her request a private family service was held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s name to Make a Wish Foundation of MA & RI, www.massri.wish.org , One Bulfinch Place, 2nd floor, Boston, MA 02114.
