Obituary of Catherine "Kay" (Keane) Byrne
Catherine (Keane) “Kay” Byrne, 88. of Peabody, died peacefully Monday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Sylvester “Red” Byrne.
She was born and raised in Somerville, MA and had resided in Peabody for the past fifty years. Kay worked at the Railway Express Company in Boston and as an executive secretary with the Boston Edison Company at the Boston Office prior to her retirement. Kay was an active parishioner and daily communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield.
She is survived by her son, John Byrne and his wife Denise, their son Patrick and daughter Meaghan Siebold and her husband Ted; her daughter Terri Murphy and her husband Bob and their daughters, Katie Corriveau and her husband Jeff, and Libby; her daughter Pat Haines and her husband Len and their son Christian and daughter Marie Felzani and her husband Matt and their three beautiful children, Andrew, Abbie and Aiden Felzani; her daughter Anne Marie Murray and her husband Timothy and their sons, Ryan and Owen , her daughter-in-law, Nancy Byrne and her son Michael and his wife Amy, and her daughters Jacqui and Elise Byrne; and Kay’s brother John Keane and his wife Bette. Kay was predeceased by her son Edward Byrne, her grandson Bobby Murphy Jr. and her sisters, Peg Fitzgerald and Anne McKenzie.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 from the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 17 Grove Street , Lynnfield at 10:30 AM.
