Obituary of Ann F. (Zavadski) Matecko

Ann F. (Zavadski) Matecko, 84 years, of Peabody, wife of the late Andrew A. Matecko died Wednesday evening at the Radius Healthcare of Beverly after an extended illness. Mrs. Matecko was born March 12, 1918 in Peabody, daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine (Filipowich) Zavadski. She was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School class of 1936 and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Matecko worked for many years as a leather worker at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. of Peabody and later went on to become a self employed hairdresser on the North Shore until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed traveling. She is survived by a son and his wife, John A. and Barbara Matecko of Peabody; a sister, Helen James of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and granddaughter and her husband, Kim A. and Michael Dean of Webster NH; a great grandson, Matthew Dean of NH and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alexander and John Zavadski.
