Obituary of Lorraine M. (Bouchie) Abbott

Lorraine (Bouchie) Abbott PEABODY—Lorraine (Bouchie) Abbott, 89, passed away on Saturday May 26, 2012 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Donald L. Abbott, Sr., with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late George and Eva (Gaff) Bouchie. Eva passed at a young age, and George married Susan (Burbank-Wall) Bouchie who was Lorraine’s mother for many years. She was raised and educated in Chelsea, then moved to Peabody where she lived for 62 years. Mrs. Abbott was employed by New England Telephone and Telegraph in Chelsea, before enjoying her nurturing role as homemaker for her cherished family. Lorraine was an active communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody, and a member of the Sodality; also, the Hawthorne and Brooksby Girl Scouts, and the North Shore Chapter of the Yankee Division Ladies Auxilliary Veterans Association. She loved being with her family whether simply cooking or travelling. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald & Karen Abbott, Jr. of Middleton, Sue (Abbott) Lewalski of Peabody and June (Snyder) Murphy of Salem; six grandchildren, Heather, Ted, Tanya, George, Lisa, and Maegen & her husband Bill; five great-grandchildren, Issac, Jacob, Keileigh, Angel, and Parker; a brother, George E. Bouchie of FL, and many dear family members, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers William F. Wall, Sr. and Leo Paul Bouchie. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday June 1, 2012 from 9:30 – 10:30 in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
