Obituary of Phyllis A. (Lang) Bailey

Phyllis A (Lang) Bailey, 87, of Peabody, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends following a short illness on Monday at the home she has lived in for the past 61 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Bailey and Edward Lomansey. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Marguerite (Hutchinson) Lang. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1942. After high school, Phyllis worked for General Electric for almost ten years before she started her family. Phyllis returned to work in 1977 as a mortgage director for Eastern Bank, a position she held for almost 7 years before she finally retired in 1983. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Murphy of Billerica and Jude Lomansey of Lynn, and also by five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ernest Lang. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. Family and friends will gather at 11:15 at the funeral home and will process to cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
