Obituary of Priscilla A. (Lyons) Cook

Priscilla A. (Lyons) Cook, 68, died unexpectedly on Friday morning at the Lahey Clinic North Hospital in Peabody following a brief illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Waugh) Lyons. She lived in Danvers for about 11 years, then moved to Wilmington where she graduated from Wilmington High School. She lived over 40 years in Peabody. She worked at the North Shore Mall branch of Essex Bank for over 10 years, and then with Rich’ s Department Store in Salem before retiring. She enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren, and had an adventurous spirit and liked travelling and driving throughout New England, Hampton Beach, Cape Cod, Maine, New Hampshire country roads, and Martha’ s Vineyard. She is survived by two sons, Bill Cook of Groveland, and David Cook of Haverhill; one daughter, Ann M. Doucet of Northfield, NH; five grandchildren, Andrew Cook and Dylan Cook of Haverhill, Amanda Cook, Ashley Cook and Lauren Cook all of Groveland, and was the former wife of Ronald Cook of Peabody for 35 years, and leaves a close cousin, Lois Hodgdon of Peabody, an aunt, several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an uncle, William J. Wrest. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in ST. John’ s Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund or Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
