Obituary of Anthony C. Triantafillou

PEABODY—Anthony C. Triantafillou, 79, beloved husband of Margaret (Dupuis) Triantafillou of Peabody, died peacefully while in the comforting presence of his family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Friday June 22, 2012. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Chris and Helen (Venios) Triantafillou. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1950. He later attended Franklin Tech College and Merrimack College. He was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a veteran of the Korean War, with service in the United States Air Force. Mr. Triantafillou owned the Dunkin Donuts in Peabody Square. When he sold that, he was the owner of Allen Seat Cover & Auto Trim of Peabody. After retiring five years ago, he worked in the automotive department at the Peabody Vocational High School for three years. Anthony was a member of the Vitorri-Rocci Post and the Franco-American Club in Beverly, and was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. He enjoyed dancing, travel, and extended stays in Jupiter, FL. He will be remembered as being a loving husband, father and grandfather devoting his life to the four generations of family. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Dupuis) Triantafillou of Peabody, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage; a daughter, Elaina Kiley & her husband Michael of Peabody; four grandchildren, Addison Kiley, Amy Triantafillou & her husband Anthony Acord, Anthony Triantafillou, and Michelle Guy & her husband Jim; five great-grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Acord, and Summer, Brian and Kiley Guy; a very close niece, Ellen Triantafillou, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a son Chris Triantafillou. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday June 27 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Bell Restitution Fund, c/o St. Vasilios, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA 01960.
