Obituary of Pauline (Kunigk) Dettlaff
Pauline (Kunigk) Detlaff
PEABODY—Pauline (Kunigk) Detlaff, 90, beloved wife of the late Waldemar Detlaff, died peacefully on Saturday July 14, 2012 at the Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village in Peabody, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Andreas and Martha (Danowski) Kunigk. She lived there in her youth, then emigrated to the United States. She lived in North Reading for many years, and moved to Peabody four years ago.
Mrs. Detlaff was a clerk with Polaroid in Waltham where she met her husband.
Pauline had no children, yet had bothers and sisters in Germany. She enjoyed 68 years of marriage to Waldemar until he died a year ago, and had several nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She enjoyed finding social gatherings that honor some of the customs, music, and dancing from her native Germany.
A small private gathering was held after cremation for her and her husband to be placed at sea to honor their lives.
